This documentation is for CCXML 1.0-Voxeo, which has been superceded by CCXML 1.0-W3C. The CCXML-Voxeo platform is not being updated any longer. The CCXML 1.0-W3C version, however, has many new features and is actively being enhanced. If you're writing a new CCXML application, you should use CCXML 1.0-W3C. Click here for the CCXML 1.0-W3C documentation.

Dialogs and CCXML

Here is where we really learn how to show off. Adding dialogs into the CCXML mix is where we harness the power of CCXML to it's fullest. Add to this, the multiparty conferencing feature, (settle down, we'll cover that soon!), and we have unparalelled capabilities and control over our telephony applications. In the next Lesson we will cover how to add dialogs into the mix, and also learn how we can seamlessly pass variables from CCXML to VXML and back again.

In addition, we will also expound on the correct methodologies to start and end a dialog session, which might seem a bit unimportant upon first glance. But make no mistake, as we delve into the concepts of integrating VoiceXML dialogs, we will soon find out that this is indeed a concept that we should take notice of and plan for accordingly.
