Prophecy and Third Party ASR/TTS Engines

The Prophecy Platform is itself a powerful MRCP media and media proxy server, which ships bundled with Voxeo’s own US English ASR and TTS engines. Additionally, Prophecy has been tested with – and is optimized for – the following engines, which are used in our IVR hosting environment and sold with the Prophecy Platform:

ASR plugins:
TTS plugins:

The Prophecy Platform is designed to be compatible with any speech synthesis or recognition engine that supports the IETF Media Resource Control Protocol (MRCP) standard, such as:

  • MRCP Proxy – IBM ASR
  • MRCP Proxy – Telesma ASR
  • MRCP Proxy – Loquendo ASR
  • Native Loquendo TTS
  • MRCP Proxy – IBM TTS
  • MRCP Proxy – Loquendo TTS
  • Any SAPI-based TTS engine

  • PLEASE NOTE: The above solutions have not been through Voxeo's interoperability testing and as such, configurations are not readily available.

One of the challenges that companies face when deploying speech applications is the portability of grammars. The Prophecy Platform can translate grammars on the fly to simplify application porting among ASR engines.  For example, Nuance 9.0 does not support GSL grammars, the format for Nuance 8.5. Voxeo enables Nuance 8.5 applications to run on Prophecy using Nuance 9.0 without having to recompile grammars.  Prophecy’s Automatic Grammar Translator supports SRGS-XML, SRGS-ABNF, GSL, IBM BNF, JSGF, SISR, SISR-SWI, SISR, and GSL-SI.
