Setting Up Telephony
The telephony component is the entry point for calls and media flowing into and out of Prophecy.
You can connect to the platform either through VoIP/SIP or through traditional TDM circuits. All you need to provide is a SIP-enabled telephony interface -- for example, IP phones and devices, soft phones, telephony cards with a SIP gateway, or SIP PBX. As long as it "speaks SIP," your telephony interface can be hardware- or software-based (or a combination of the two).
This chapter is designed to assist you in integrating your third-party telephony hardware and/or software. We can't test and create guides for every solution, but we do have rules of thumb you can follow. If your device supports the interoperability requirements outlined, we can usually get the device to work with Prophecy.
