Registering Your Copy of Prophecy

Prophecy comes with a fully functional 30-day license key which you can upgrade to a permanent free license at any time simply by registering the software.

Prophecy license keys are associated with a specific machine/System ID. This is a compiled string of numbers based based on your MAC address and a few system internals. If you are having issues with your license, you can reference the Troubleshooting section of this guide.

How Many Ports Do You Need?

The number of telephony ports limits the number of concurrent calls Prophecy can maintain at any given time. When you are issued a Prophecy license, you will have X number of telephony ports plus X*3 internal ports. For example, a 2-port license also includes six additional ports for internal use.

These internal ports allow Prophecy to do all of its inner workings without affecting your port count. An example of the need for these additional internal ports would be when you need to fetch information from a back-end database – this will consume a CCXML or CallXML port while performing this action and we do not want document fetches to limit the number of actual callers you can have.

When you register your copy of Prophecy, you can purchase additional ports.

Registering Your License

This section explains how to register for a free, completely unlocked, 2-port license.

To register your license:

  1. On the Prophecy Home page, click Registration. This takes you to the Prophecy Licensing page and prompts you to sign in to your Evolution account.

  2.

  3. Enter your username and password, and then click Login.  If you don’t have an account, you can register now.
  4.
  5. The Prophecy Licensing page is displayed. It includes your system ID.  This system ID is what distinguishes one Prophecy box from another.

  6.

  7. Review the system ID and then click Continue. The licensing service looks up your system ID and displays how many ports, if any, you have already purchased from Voxeo. If this is your first installation, the page indicates you have two licensed ports on your machine. You will be able to register a 2-port license for free. You can view the pricing model for Prophecy and select up to twenty additional ports.  If you require more than twenty ports, please contact a member of our sales team by emailing Sales
  8.
  9. When you have the number of ports you want, click the "Click here" link to automatically apply the license for you.
Congratulations!  You now have a valid license.

Viewing Your Prophecy License

For troubleshooting purposes, you might need to retrieve your license information. You can access it from two places – the Prophecy Management Console and the Windows command prompt. The Management Console version will give you a little less information, but is usually all you need when contacting Voxeo Support.

View your license information to get these key items:

To view your license, run the following command in your Prophecy home directory (the directory where you elected to install Prophecy):

For Windows:
      prophecy help

For Linux and Mac OS X:
    ./prophecy help

Your output should look similar to the following example:
